Our commitment
ThanksDoc is committed to making our website and digital services accessible to everyone, in line with the Equality Act 2010 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across our website, booking flow, and patient communications.
How accessible we believe we are
The current version of our website was built with accessibility in mind. Specific features include:
- Semantic HTML, landmarks, and ARIA labels for screen reader users
- Keyboard navigation throughout the site, with visible focus outlines
- Skip-to-content link on every page
- Text and interactive elements meeting the 4.5:1 contrast ratio
- Resizable text up to 200% without loss of content or function
- Alternative text on all meaningful images
- Support for the
prefers-reduced-motionsystem setting - Forms with proper labels, error messages, and validation
Known limitations
We are aware of the following areas where we may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We are working to fix them.
[LIST KNOWN ISSUES AFTER ACCESSIBILITY AUDIT]
We commission an independent accessibility audit every 12 months and address findings on a rolling basis.
Non-website accessibility
If you need to communicate with us in a particular way, we will do our best to accommodate. For example:
- Sign Language Interpreter (BSL) for video consultations, where booked in advance
- Easy Read information about our service, on request
- Documents in large print, on request
- Reasonable additional time for appointments where this would help
To request any of these, email info@thanksdoc.co.uk with at least 48 hours' notice before your appointment.
Feedback
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our service. If you experience problems or have a suggestion, please email accessibility@thanksdoc.co.uk with:
- The page or feature you were using
- A description of the issue
- The device, browser, and assistive technology you were using (if relevant)
We aim to acknowledge feedback within 3 working days and resolve it within 28 working days where possible.
Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
